  • 2 Year Contract; 40 hrs/week
  • W2 Employee Only- NO CORP to CORP
  • Must be a local resident to be onsite 1xWeekly (Tuesdays), and can be remote the remainder of the week
  • Starting range $38.00/hr+ DOE

 

The expectation is that this contract worker will be interviewed with the intent that in a year (preferably) or two this worker will be transitioned to an COMPANY FTE within the Demand Integration department.

 JOB DESCRIPTION

Engineering support pertaining to the administration of Load Resources and distribution connected generators for the Demand Integration department of COMPANY. This position will also provide critical backup support for other activities within the Demand Integration Department. It is preferred that candidates have knowledge and experience working with data analysis pertaining to demand response.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Assist with the registration, modeling, qualification testing, and event performance analysis for all Load Resources.
  • Develop and maintain new evaluation and monitoring tools for the administration of various demand response services as well as Settlement Only Distribution Generators (SODGs).
  • Assist both internal and external stakeholders concerning issues related to demand response in the wholesale market construct within the COMPANY Protocols.
  • Help ensure consistency and stability of the market.
  • Acquires the skills and knowledge to provide engineering and analytical support for the demand integration department, wholesale market and grid operations.
  • Generates and maintains market reports per requests and protocols.
  • Assists the management team and senior experts in providing technical assistance to PUCT, industry and stakeholder groups.
  • Recommends, reviews and tests proposed changes to the COMPANY wholesale market systems and design.
  • Under supervision, helps to ensure all demand integration related activities have been successfully completed per protocols and works closely with Market Participants to resolve issues concerning wholesale market and grid operations as it relates to demand response and SODGs.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline preferred or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields

Work Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years work experience (in excess of degree requirements stated above) in demand response and/or distributed generation preferred.
  • Demonstrates proficient technical skills with common business applications such as SQL, EXCEL, or other tools for analyzing large data populations.
  • It is preferred that candidates have a working knowledge of electrical power systems and/or DERs.
  • Preferred experience facilitating revisions to Protocol and Other Binding Document language through internal processes, including project requirements, implementation, and testing.
  • Preferred Performing Protocol, Other Binding Document, and general reporting audit functions.

Onsite Requirements:

It is expected that this individual will be onsite in Taylor minimum 1 day per week or more based on business needs. Must be located in Texas.
